Steamed Haiku

Last Friday I had a haiku published on the Kent & East Sussex Railway web site. I was inspired by a news item on Wednesday evening. You can read my haiku at K&ESR. What do you think of it?

That is so darn cool! For a prompt I wrote a piece and sent a copy to the photographer…and he wrote back. Just a nice note that he liked what I wrote. It is nice when those things happen.

We are trying to restore some of our old rail lines to trails. Some areas are more successful than others. Sometimes the different counties that the rails pass trough can’t agree. One trail wanted to ban horses and bikes. Really? Isn’t that what you would want the trail for?

  2. Duh! I should have looked inside the article instead of looking around the site for poetry sections 🙂

Loved it! Definitely conjures the feeling about the railway returning to work. Thanks for steering me right.

  3. I didn’t see it there, was I looking in the wrong section of the article?
