The “wild mustard” haiku is a reflection upon spring at the Gettysburg (Pennsylvania, USA) battlefield. Jen has been tinkering with haiku for years, but didn’t get very serious about it until about 2 years ago. Following the prompts at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai has been an enormous help in refining her poems, as has reading the poetry of Basho and Issa. Check out Jen’s blog at Blog It Or Lose It
