This haiku stood out to me from the first reading; the contrast between the shore and the safe harbour. I also liked his implicit mention of the lighthouse.
This haiku is part of my OCEAN series.
I found some historic lighthouses, one actually was a a lighthouse station in Wisconsin on Lake Michigan last year.
I think most lighthouses are now automated. I believe being a lighthouse keeper was a tremendous responsibility which seems to have some romance attached to it. Nice verse. Reminded me of my explorations in Wisconsin.
