I enjoy exploring the distillation of thought that seventeen syllables demands.
Why did Troi David Loy choose Kerfe’s 5 haiku out of all the others in the shortlist?
“I got the feel of a tabletop role playing game session, one with a magical realism or even surrealist bent, like a waking mystical experience or fantasy story, but free of a strictly linear narrative, exploring several branches of causality at once and independent of ordinary logic, but with a sort of logic of its own. I chose it as my favorite from the way that the first and third haiku in the set really grabbed my attention while the second, fourth, and fifth in the set roped me in and kept it.”
This haiku is part of our Ghostlight theme.
Wonderful haikus! ❤️
Congratulations, Kerfe!
