Pure Haiku is once again OPEN to submissions.
THEME: Volcano.
DEADLINE: Midnight (UK Time) on 30th June 2022.
Please use the above image to inspire you to write a maximum of 5 traditional haiku.
Explore the emotions and ideas that Volcano by Elisa Ang evokes!
What I’m looking for: Classical/traditional haiku in the English language (5-7-5 syllables) that blow my mind. Let me see things in this image through your words that I’ve not yet seen or imagined…Find out more at Composition and Selection.
What I don’t want: You are NOT allowed to use the words volcano or volcanoes in your haiku, or in the titles (if you wish to provide titles) for your haiku. Any submissions that contain haiku that don’t conform to the 5-7-5 syllabic structure. Find out why HERE!
Due to the sheer number of high quality haiku I now receive at Pure Haiku, there will be TWO featured haiku writers for this theme. One will be chosen by the artist, Elisa Ang, and the other will be chosen by myself! To be in with a chance of being selected as one of the Featured Haiku Writers, please send in 5 stunning haiku inspired by Elisa’s Volcano painting.
