Pure Haiku Submissions in 2020

1 January, 2020

Happy New Year!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

Just wanted to give you all a heads up on how Pure Haiku is being run this year.

I will be opening Pure Haiku to submissions on three separate themes in the first three months of 2020.

The first theme will be announced on 6th January and will run until 24th January. The selected haiku will be posted April-June.

The second theme will be announced on 3rd February and will run until 21st February. The selected haiku will be posted July – September.

The third theme will be announced on 2nd March and will run until 20th March. The selected haiku will be posted October – December.

The reason for this is that my self-employed status means I cannot predict how busy I will be at any given time of the year. I have to schedule all posts that appear on this blog well in advance!

Check back on 6th January for the first theme to be announced!

Please ensure you’ve read all the information (click on the page tabs at the top of the screen) as many updates as to how I select haiku and how haiku should be submitted have been made recently.

I look forward to reading your work!

Please note that haiku from this site are automatically shared to my three Twitter accounts at @purehaikufp, @FreyaPickard and @FreyasClippings.

I no longer post haiku on Facebook and will be closing my Mewe account shortly.

wolf slinks away…

Thank you for travelling with us as my guests and I explored the theme of Wolf. I am taking a rest from Pure Haiku for a few months and won’t be posting anything here until February 2016. Pure Haiku will re-open to submissions in March 2016 when a new theme will be posted on the Submissions page.
Up until Christmas you can find me writing cinquains over at Dragonscale Clippings

changes…

2 January, 2015
Happy New Year to all my readers!
I just want to explain briefly the changes I am implementing this year.
I am still on chemotherapy and struggling with no energy and tiredness. I cannot get online as much as I would like, so, as I have two blogs, I am going to alternate my blogging between Dragonscale Clippings (see link to the right) and here at Pure Haiku.
This month I will be presenting you with a series of haiku about wind… I have gone back through my journals and discovered many haiku that I’ve not yet shared with the world. As I am struggling to write anything other than the occasional clipping about how awful I feel (!) I thought it would be more positive to share my observations about the wind in all its forms from my journals.
I will open Pure Haiku to submissions in February, when a new theme will appear on the Submissions page. Thank you for staying with me. Much love Freya xxx
