STOP PRESS – Twelvemonth by Linda Imbler

22 June, 2024

Pure Haiku Contributor, Linda Imbler has recently released another poetry collection; Twelvemonth.

There’s much to be experienced in a year’s time; much to be thought, much to be learned and taught, much to be felt, much to be imagined, and much to be remembered.

Our bodies work as systems that store thoughts, emotions, and dreams. And, as a result, we fear the insurmountable, celebrate triumphs, cherish memories of good times, and dislike the unpleasant.

This is my stroll through one great 365. It is a diary of sorts; of ideas, sentiments, and fancies.

And, although within these pages are the images of only one writer, each reader will find relatable notions to examine within their own physiology.

Twelvemonth is available at Kindle US and Kindle UK.

If you would like your new poetry book to be mentioned here at Pure Haiku, please read the Stop Press Post carefully to see if you qualify and email me the appropriate information.

Please be aware that all comments are moderated before appearing on this blog. I am currently offline so comments may not appear for a few days. Thank you for your patience!

15 November, 2023

Today I am launching my fourth poetry collection, Vampirical Verse!

In this volume I explore the fall out from cancer and chemotherapy, how it has dramatically changed everything in my life.

Feeling empty and feeling nothing are common symptoms of any trauma and the way I processed such a lack of emotion was to identify with the Vampire. Through these varied poems, I cathartically express the confusion in my body, soul and mind.

Walk with me a while. See how your trauma can be faced head on and experienced so that you emerge a stronger, more determined person.

Vampirical Verse is available at:

Watch the book trailer on YouTube and see/listen to my spoken word poetry performances of 6 of the poems in the collection HERE.

Would you like to have your latest or forthcoming poetry collection mentioned here on Pure Haiku?

If you have had at least one haiku either already published by Pure Haiku or accepted for publication in 2024, you can email me at purehaiku@gmail.com with MY NEW POETRY BOOK and your name in the subject line. Simply tell me about your book in one sentence, provide me with the publication date and at least one purchase link for the e-book. Your book needs to be published between 1st November 2023 and 30th April 2024. The next Stop Press post will be scheduled for 15th April 2024.

Please don’t submit any links for anthologies – you need to be the sole author of the poems within the book. Please DON’T send me any book covers or any attachments at all. Any unrequested attachments will mean the email will end up in my spam folder and won’t be read.

15 September, 2023

I’m launching my fourth poetry collection, Vampirical Verse, on 15th November 2023. It’s available for pre-order now at Amazon, iBooks, Kobo, Smashwords, Nook and other online stores.

“They (the poems) are straight from the heart, soul and gut. They are never trite, never overblown  but wonderfully, articulate and rich in imagery.” S Moore

Vampirical Verse reflects the emotional, mental and spiritual fallout from cancer. These poems are an attempt by Freya Pickard to express the inexpressible.

(STOP PRESS is a new kind of post that I will be publishing as and when there is a need for it. If you have had at least one haiku published here at Pure Haiku since 2010 and have a poetry collection that is authored completely by you (sorry, no anthologies by multiple authors) that has either been published since 1st September 2023 or is going to be published before 31st December 2023, send me an email at purehaiku@gmail.com BEFORE 1st November 2023, and I will mention it in a post here on 15th November. You’ll need to send me your full name, the title of your collection and a direct purchase link (no bitlys etc!))
